C.1810, English, Robert Wilson, Moor House, 8-day Brass dial tall clock, oak case with fret top, and with calendar intact.
Condition: out of a house, this clock was cleaned and running. There have been repairs to the fret top, still looks OK; the entire case refinished at some time. The dial has nice seaweed spandrels, and a well engraved seconds and calendar ring. The chapter ring and name piece on the dial are polished to brass and need re-silvering. Old lead weights run the clock well. Proper period pendulum. Height 89 inches
C.1810, English, Calendar Tall Clock, 30-Day+ weight driven, with unusual dial showing hours and seconds at top, minutes in the center, days to the left and date to the right.
Condition: the dial has been repainted by the Dial House in Dallas, GA. The movement has been cleaned and re-strung and seems to be running ok. Note there are 5 wheels in the time train, and winding is to the left. There are 36 teeth in the escape wheel giving approx 72 beats to the minute, so although the seconds hand rotates once each minute, each tick is slightly less than a second. Detent springs for calendar wheels have been replaced. Movement has early pillar design and interesting tapered plates and may be earlier than the mahogany case. Height 82 inches
