Shelf or Mantel Ogee

Clocks- 2 (Two) Connecticut shelf: (1) Smith & Goodrich, Bristol, Conn miniature OG with 30 hours, time and strike,, fusee spring movement, c1850. (2) Ansonia Brass Co, Ansonia, CT miniature shelf clock with 30 hour spring timepiece, c1860.

(1) The rosewood veneered case has original finish. The painted metal dial is original with some loss on the edges and at the screw holes The hour hand is original, minute hand an old replacement. Ht 14". The label is very good. The upper door glass is original as is the bottom glass, although it is showing some flaking. Ht 15 1/2" (2) Mahogany veneered case has some original finish but has several areas of significant veneer loss. The painted metal dial is worn. The hands are original. The door glasses are both original and the lower one shows some minor loss. Ht 11 1/2"

Mahogany veneered case in original finish with a small veneer piece missing on the lower left corner and side. Original upper glass with reverse painted spandrels has a crack. Original bottom tablet with some scattered loss. Original brass dial has loss to the numbers at the winding arbors. Original hands. Early style OG movement. Clean label inside the case. Ht 26"

Clocks- 3 (Three): (1) Seth Thomas, Plymouth Hollow, Conn., 30 hours, time and strike, OG, c1860. (2) Seth Thomas, Thomaston, Conn., 8 days, time, strike & alarm OG, c1870. (3) No label [probably Pratt & Frost or Daniel Frost, Mass,] 30 hours, time and

(1) Refinished mahogany veneered in nice condition. Original painted dial with some repair to the painted corner decoration. Tablet is a replacement. Minute hand has been repaired. Feet to stabilize the case have been added. (2) Refinished walnut veneered case with some small veneer chips on the sides. Original painted dial with repair to the corner decoration. Minute hand probably a replacement. Frosted tablet is a replacement. (3) Mahogany veneered case in an old finish with minor chips. Original painted dial with minor wear. Original hands. Bottom glass is old, but a replacement.

(1) Refinished rosewood veneered OOG case with original painted dial and very nice tablet. Hands may be replacements. (2) Refinished mahogany veneered OG case with minor loss. Original painted dial with loss. Tablet is replaced, but hands are original. (3) Refinished mahogany OG veneered case. Original painted wood dial with loss. Original reverse painted tablet with minor loss near the top. Hands are original. (4) Refinished mahogany veneered OOG case with minor loss. Original signed painted wood dial. Original hands and very nice original tablet.

Clocks- 3 (Three) Connecticut OG/OOG, weight driven shelf: (1) Jerome & Co., New Haven, 8 days, time and strike, OOG, c1870. (2) E. N. Welch, Forestville, 8 days, time and strike, OG, c1860. (3) Jeromes & Co., Bristol, 30 hours, time and strike OG, c1840.

(1)Refinished mahogany veneered case with minor loss. Original painted dial with small loss at 5 o'clock. Original tablet with minor loss. Hands are original. (2)Mahogany veneered case in an old finish with a couple of small repairs. Original painted dial with small loss at the mounting pins. Hands and Fenn frosted tablet are original. (3)Mahogany veneered case in an old finish with a couple veneer chips. Original painted dial with some loss at the mounting pins, a couple scattered chips and some wear to the numbers. Hands and mirror tablet are original.

Atkins & Porter, Bristol, CT, 8 day brass movement time and strike, weight driven OG shelf clock with label of J. J. & W. Beal's Clock Establishment, Boston, c 1844.

Refinished, nicely figured mahogany veneer case with small veneer loss on the top right corner and the lower OG molding. Original wood painted dial shows wear and some paint loss. Hands are original. The William B. Fenn tablet is original with some loss and restoration around the border and bears the name of Atkins & Porter, Bristol, Ct. Ht 29 1/2".

Clocks- 3 (Three) early American 30 hour clocks. (1) Chauncey Jerome, Bristol, CT time and strike, weight driven OG in mahogany veneer case, c1845. (2) Henry C. Smith, Plymouth, Conn., time and strike, weight driven wood movement OG in mahogany veneered

(1) Some original finish, some veneer issues, original painted dial with some paint loss. Original hands. New door glass and mirror. Ht 25 3/4" (2) Some original case finish remains, but there are some veneer issues. The painted wood dial is in good condition. Original hands. The top door glass is original and the bottom etched glass is a replacement. Ht 25 3/4" (3) Some case finish remaining; original painted wooden dial, somewhat darkened, original hands. Ht 253/4"

Clocks- 2 (Two): (1) Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Conn., 30 hours, time and strike,, OG, c1842. (2) Ansonia Brass Co., Ansonia, Conn., 30 hours, time and strike,, OG, c1865.

(1) Mahogany and birds-eye maple case with significant finish loss and veneer loss along the bottom band. Original painted dial is dirty and missing the keyhole grommets. The movement is original, held together with nuts rather than pins, typical of Hoadley OG movements. Mirror and top glass appear to be original. Ht 26". (2) Mahogany case has little finish remaining but is in nice condition with a few small veneer chips.. Painted dial is fading. Hands are original. The bottom tablet is original with some paint loss. Ht 25 1/2".
