Ansonia Clock Co. enameled iron case "Rosalind", ca 1904.
Iron has been repainted and looks great. Gold etchings were repainted, not as good as when original, but satisfactory. This gentleman did great movement work and for the most part refinished the cases pretty well but he would clean the old finish off the ornaments and stop there. He did not regilt or do anything to give it a proper finish. The ornaments are clean but are down to the copper base. Movement is 8 day, half hour gong strike, running real well. Case is 15.25 inches wide, 12.25 inches high. 2 piece porcelain dial is not perfect but a tiny hairline should not hurt anyone. There is a metal back door, original pendulum and key. The old 1999 price guide values this model at 550 dollars. Since then the Ansonia clocks have skyrocketed in price. Ly-Ansonia #975.
