Silas Hoadley Stencil-Decorated Wooden Works Half Column Clock,
polychrome painted wooden dial with Arabic on chapter ring, outer minute ring marked with circles with line through the middle, 30-hour wooden weight driven time and strike movement, interior with original illustrated printed paper label with Franklin Clocks above bust portrait of Ben Franklin, above Silas Hoadley/Plymouth (Conn.) above a spread-winged eagle atop U.S. shield. Fine replaced tablets with polychrome painted country estate on upper and lower with window to view pendulum, flanked by gilt compass stars on light blue ground, door with replaced ivory escutcheon. Case is mahogany veneer over pine and poplar with ebonized and gold stenciled half columns with stenciled spread-winged eagle atop U.S. shield with acanthus leaves, flanked by mahogany plinths, 4.5" x 17" x 36.25". Condition report Cleaned original finish, top of eagle's wings and back replaced, top of plinths replaced, likely missing turned feet and one veneer chip on base, missing pendulum, not currently running.
