polychrome painted wooden dial with Arabic on chapter ring, outer minute ring marked with circles with line through the middle and bold lines every 5 minutes, brass time and strike 8-day spring-driven movement stamped on plate E. Ingraham Co. / Bristol Ct. U.S.A., interior with original illustrated printed paper label with Franklin Clocks above bust portrait of Ben Franklin, above Silas Hoadley/Plymouth (Conn.) above a spread-winged eagle atop U.S. shield. Door with double tablet, larger upper mirrored and lower with central window for viewing pendulum with inscription surround Time Is Money, flanked by 2 different Greek revival mansions, door with ivory escutcheon. Case is mahogany veneer over pine and poplar with ebonized acanthus leaf and turned half columns with carved crest with pair of cross-hatched cornucopia with leaf and fruit surround, flanked by mahogany plinths, stepped out base, all in original varnish finish, 4.5" x 17.2" x 36". AUCTIONEER'S NOTE: replaced movement, brass 8-day stamped as above, with new winding arbor holes and old holes filled. Condition report Mirror with slight clouding, lower tablet with ca 90% paint, minor veneer chips, not currently running.
