Marsh, Williams and Co. Dayton Ohio Rare Semi-Hollow Column Shelf Clock,
30-hour time and strike, weight-driven, wooden works. Wonderful Dayton, OH polychrome-painted wooden dial, Arabic numerals, landscape center in forest and red clover spandrels. Mahogany case with 3/4 round semi-hollow columns, scroll-cut splat with original gilt gesso basket of fruit and leaves (possibly re-gilded), flanked by plain plinths. Triple-paned door with all original tablets, clear dial over mirrored center over polychrome-painted young mother in pastoral setting with daughter and dog. Appears to be original finish and paper label. Truly a wonderful clock. 17.5" wide x 5" deep x 29" high.Exhibited and picture Ohio Clock Exhibit 1810-1850, Warren Co.
