Gilbert & Co. Farmington Ct. Shelf Clock, 8-day time and strike, weight-driven, wooden works. Painted wooden dial, Roman numerals, gilt center garter and scrollwork spandrels. Mahogany case with carved half columns and scroll-cut splat. Acanthus leaf columns separated by turned, spiraled sections, plain plinth capital and base. Splat is basket of fruit with foliage background, flanked by plain plinths. Old, possibly original, mirrored tablet, original finish and paper label. 18.5" wide x 5.5" deep x 37" high.Ex Paul A.
