L. Watson Cincinnati with E. Warner of Lexington, KY Case,
cherry and poplar secondary. Broken arch pediment with carved rosettes and recently added V-shaped drop supporting very tall turned finial. Hood has gracefully turned, free-standing front columns with center swells and original glass. Waist has canted corners with lamb's tongues; door retains original pull and has scroll across top in Signature form of cabinet maker Elijah Warner of Lexington, Kentucky (1810-29). Base has overhanging waist molding and straight French feet. Polychrome and gilt wooden face is signed L. Watson Cincinnati inside the chapter ring, and has floral-decorated spandrels and vase with flowers in dial arch. 30-hour wooden movement has seat board stamped IS, a known, but unidentified, mark.
