E. Howard and Co., Boston, "No. 2 Banjo", 8-day weight driven timepiece, in a grained cherry case, second to the largest size, C.1890, other than the dial having been re-blacked over the original crazed white surface, this clock is in excellent original condition, with rich graining still intact. The bottom inch of the throat broke off, and has been replaced with two brass tabs to hold the throat in place (does not show). The original movement is mounted on a shim board that has been there from the start, and is held in place by brass side tabs; there was never a center screw hole in the case. (All the larger size banjos were special orders, and there are variances) Original Howard weight with cast-in "2". Great original pendulum with decorative pattern intact. Height 44 inches
