John Sawin, Boston, mahogany banjo timepiece, with signed dial, 8-day, weight driven, C.1825, as-found
Anonymous (not verified)
24 October 2024
The mahogany case has been refinished and received restorations over the years. The top finial is new and stained to match. Barbed hands are quality replacements. Otherwise, this is a good looking early banjo. The strong point on this clock is the original dial, on which there has been no effort to enhance or darken what is there. Mov't clean and is running briskly. Ht 32"
