this is a nice earlier banjo, the step train movement drilled on the front plate for filister screws, now held in with just 2 wood screws through the back plate. Has decent barb hands and an old weight. The tablets are recent, approx 1975, and the dial, which has an old crazed surface was probably re-blacked and the signature applied at that time. The signature paint clearly fills the cracks/crazing in the dial paint. Ht 40"
