Marshall and Adams / Seneca Falls, N. Y., ca 1836.

Double deck style column and splat mahogany veneered case is 36" high. Veneer is figured mahogany on the case, the splat, chimneys, and returns. Half columns on the lower half beside the mirror. The mirror is probably not original to the clock, but is old and wavy. Both doors have knob latches. Inside there is a very nice label, unusual alarm movement in the bottom, and the company's own design of an 8 day strap brass movement. This is their earliest movement, Type I, resembling a style made by S. B. Terry with a solid back plate. The alarm is spring driven and activated by a long wire from the running movement. There is a pair of period iron weights, old brass bob, and an old winding crank. There is a very good wood dial and old pair of hands. There has been light touchup on the lower edge where the holding nails scratched the paint. Overall the clock is in excellent condition, especially for a clock pushing 200 years old.
