this clock passed through the hands of Mike Basch around 25 years ago. Bob remembers stopping at his house on the way to the National Association of Watch and Clock Collector's national convention in Boston in 1980 and he proudly explained he had found someone to apply gold leaf in a pattern similar to the stenciled banjo case shown in Wallace Nutting's "The Clock Book". It may have been this very clock. Note matching finial on top. The tablets look like something Karl Barathy might have produced in 1975. The dial pan is period, with restorations, some flakes and loss, also rust, and with later Willard signature. Original movement is a nice hand made unit with alternate train layout. Note also that Foster Campos made around a dozen similar clocks, with brackets and sent the throat and door to Karen Larson for stenciling. A well made timepiece with interesting restorations.
