the case retains its untouched original finish / surface. There is minor flaking to original throat and lower tablets. There are a few minor flakes on original dial with original paint. David P. Davis, originally of Howard and Davis was briefly in business with John Polsey after he left Howard in 1857-58 when they formed Davis, Polsey and Co and produced among other clocks these banjos to the same dimensions as the Howard No. 4. This is an excellent original example of an uncommon clock. Ht 32"
