John Sawin, Boston, Mass., banjo wall clock, 8 day, time only, weight driven movement in a mahogany veneer case with reverse painted throat and lower tablet, hinged throat door, brass pendulum rod, and painted metal dial, c1835 the case retains its original finish with several veneer repairs to doors, which have original tablets that have been reblacked. There are glue repairs to backboard of case. The pendulum tie down is unusual and finely wrought. Please see a similar example in Paul Foley's "Willard's Patent Timepieces" on page 160 and 161. Ht 33"
