Ansonia Clock Co., New York, NY, "Franconia", cast metal fantasy clock, featuring flying gargoyles to the sides, a bird below the dial and profuse scrolls and swirls, surmounted by a winged urn, c1894 this uncommon model has been professionally restored with a silvery finish. There is a small 1/4" tip absent from right side of winged urn. The small line drawing of the clock shown in Ly's book titled "Ansonia Clocks" gives no hint of the impressive nature of the clock. We sold a similar model, lot #633, in our October 27th & 28th, 2012 sale for $2100. Ht 18"
