John Birge, Bristol, Conn., 8 days, time and strike, weight driven early strap brass movement double decker shelf clock, c1831 Refinished mahogany veneered case with a small piece of veneer missing on the lower left corner of the bottom door and some small damage on the bottom left corner of the upper door. Gilding, paint and graining on the columns, splat and feet have been restored. Tablet is a replacement. Original painted dial is very clean. Mirror behind the dial has been restored. Interesting use of mirrors behind the lower columns. Hands are original. Ht 38"
