Sidney Advertising Clock Co., Sidney, Otsego County, New York, Huge "Advertising", wall clock, 8 days, time and calendar, spring driven movement in a soft wood case with a, papered metal dial, reverse painted tablet and papered advertising rolls driven by a separate movement rotating every five minutes. the case has an old refinish with some restorations including repainted inside backboard and dial surround. The tablet has been professionally repainted advertising Nelson's Pharmacy Marion, Kentucky. The advertising rolls have been professionally restored with period advertisements. The dial has been replaced. Andrew Van Woert Strait took out a patent in 1886 for the rotating cylinders in the bottom which change the ad every 5 minutes. This is a nicely restored example in mostly original condition.
