Welch, Spring & Co., Forestville, Conn., "No. 3 Mantel Calendar" shelf clock with a weight driven 8 day, time and strike movement with a B. B, Lewis perpetual calendar mechanism in a rosewood veneered case. The strap brass rolling pinion movement was the last use of a Joseph Ives design, The rosewood case has a soft lustre finish. The time and day dial has been repainted. The hands are all original. Part of the case bottom board is missing. The calendar dial is in excellent condition. The interior case label is excellent as is the calendar instructions label. Both door glasses are original.
